Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

HOOPESTON -- Mrs. Emma Olson, 98, of 812 E. Lincoln, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday (July 26, 1978) at Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital. She had been a patient since July 15. Mrs. Olson had resided at home, alone, until she became ill and entered the hospital this month. She was a life member of the Hoopeston United Methodist Church. Born Jan. 27. 1880, in Rankin, she was a daughter of Peter and Nellie Nelson Matson. She was married to Perry Olson Jan. 16, 1917, in Paxton. He died April 30, 1940. Survivors include a niece, Mrs. Thelma Sargent Davis of Indianapolis, Ind.; a step-daughter, Laura Myers of Hoopeston; a step daughter-in-law, Mrs. Nina Olson of Hoopeston; 10 step grandchildren; 19 step great-grandchildren, eight step great-great-grandchildren; four great-nephews and three great-nieces. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hamilton-Orr Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Hutton officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.   --waw
